The British band The Horrors recently announced that they are preparing for an exciting Australian headline tour. Known for their unique musical style that seamlessly combines indie rock, trip-hop, psychedelia, dream-pop, darkwave, shoegaze, and garage punk, The Horrors captivated audiences at the Dark Mofo festival, helming a mesmerizing sonic journey. Music critic William Oakeshott from Wall Of Sound praised the band, describing them as delivering “all wonders to light” with their captivating soundscapes and captivating gothic poetry.

The highly anticipated event marks The Horrors’ return to Australia after a nine-year hiatus since their last appearance in 2012. During the visit, the band presented an exclusive performance at Dark Mofo in Hobart and delighted fans in Melbourne with an intimate Live at 3RRR set before the festival began. The touring schedule will kick off in April 2026, with the band scheduled to perform in major Australian cities such as Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.

Having been active for nearly two decades, The Horrors have established themselves as a band known for their innovation and critical acclaim. Embracing various genres and styles, they have transitioned from garage-goths on their debut album “Strange House” in 2007 to the Mercury Prize-nominated “Primary Colours.” Their subsequent releases, such as “Skying” and “V,” further solidified their reputation for delivering outstanding work, with the latter earning acclaim from the Guardian.

The band’s latest album, “Night Life,” is a work characterized by powerful emotions, introspection, and moments of both melancholy and euphoria. Drawing on the desire to recapture the raw, instinctual essence of their early music, the album encapsulates the bands’ nocturnal creativity. Exploring realms of thought and experience that emerge under the cloak of night, “Night Life” serves as a testament to The Horrors’ ability to blend seemingly contrasting ideas into a cohesive and impactful musical experience.

The Horrors are set to ignite stages across Australia in April as they embark on their “Night Life” tour. The tour lineup includes performances at iconic venues like Princess Theatre in Brisbane, Manning Bar in Sydney, Northcote Theatre in Melbourne, Lion Arts Factory in Adelaide, and Rosemount in Perth. Fans can anticipate a transformative and evocative performance showcasing the band’s musical evolution and artistic prowess.
