Forbidden, a ’90s rock band hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, has recently made a thrilling announcement regarding their return. After experiencing a series of lineup changes and switching record labels, Forbidden revealed through Instagram that they have inked a deal with BLK II BLK / Frontiers Music. This new label will also be home to renowned metal bands such as Biohazard, Firewind, Megadeath, and Nanslaughter.

Initially formed as Forbidden Evil in 1985, the band quickly made a name for themselves in the thrash metal genre with their debut album, also titled Forbidden Evil, released in 1988. Following the success of their first record, Forbidden released Twisted Into Form in 1990, solidifying their position in the music scene. Despite enjoying success well into the ’90s, Forbidden disbanded in 1997. However, a decade later in 2007, they regrouped and subsequently released Omega Wave in 2010.

After taking a hiatus in 2012, Forbidden made a comeback in 2023 with a reinvigorated lineup consisting of Craig Locicero, Matt Camacho, Norman Skinner, Chris Kontos, and Jeremy Von Epp. The band, through an Instagram post, expressed their excitement about signing with BLK II BLK / Frontiers, stating, “We are elated to announce that Forbidden has joined forces with one of our industry’s biggest champions of heavy music & our old friend, Mike Gitter at BLK II BLK / Frontiers!”

Moreover, Forbidden shared that they are currently in the process of recording their sixth studio album, marking their first release in 16 years. According to reports, the album is being recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, under the supervision of engineer Zack Ohren. Drummer Chris Kontos has laid down eight new tracks for the album, and the band has even recorded a secret cover song. This forthcoming album, slated for a mid-2026 release, will mark a significant moment for the band and their loyal fanbase.

Forbidden has been working on this album for a couple of years, with their recent single “Divided by Zero” released last June serving as a precursor to their upcoming project. Despite the excitement surrounding this new record, details such as the album title, tracklist, and exact release date are yet to be disclosed. Fans eagerly awaiting the new release can enjoy Forbidden’s existing discography and recent single on various streaming platforms.

In conclusion, with their triumphant return and the promise of new music on the horizon, Forbidden is set to captivate audiences once again. The band’s perseverance, dedication, and passion for music are evident, and their upcoming album holds the key to redefining their legacy in the rock music scene. Stay tuned for more updates on Forbidden’s groundbreaking new album.
