Brandon Lake has given fans a glimpse into his upcoming country and Contemporary Christian crossover project, showcasing collaborations with well-known artists. Following the success of his viral collaboration with Jelly Roll on ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ last year in February 2025, Lake has continued to explore the country genre. His recent partnerships with Gabby Barrett on ‘As For My & My Home’ and Cody Johnson on ‘When a Cowboy Prays’ have hinted at this musical shift.

In the past few weeks, the singer-songwriter has been hinting at a writers’ retreat he hosted, inviting prominent country music artists. While there have been teasers about those in attendance, Lake’s latest social media video provides a clearer picture of the artists involved. The clip showcases collaborations with Lainey Wilson, Thomas Rhett, HARDY, Dan + Shay, Bailey Zimmerman, Russell Dickerson, and potentially more artists yet to be revealed. Lake has previously shared an acoustic performance of ‘The Jesus I Know,’ a song he co-wrote with Lainey Wilson, which features the contributions of established country songwriters like Luke Laird and Emily Weisband.

Explaining his venture into the country music scene with a forthcoming album, Lake mentioned how a divine inspiration led him to support and uplift country music leaders. Following a writers’ retreat that encompassed over 25 country music artists and songwriters, they collectively produced nearly 50 songs in just five days. While unsure of what the future holds for this project, Lake expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate and contribute to a music community that has been a source of blessing and inspiration to him.

Having made a name for himself in Contemporary Christian Music over the past decade, initially as part of groups like Bethel Music and Maverick City Music, Lake’s upcoming project marks a new chapter in his musical journey. The fusion of country and faith-based elements in his work reflects a tradition deeply rooted in country music history, resonating with the devoted country music fanbase. While concrete details of his country-leaning project remain undisclosed, fans can anticipate a release that mirrors the collaborative spirit seen in Chris Tomlin’s successful ‘Chris Tomlin & Friends’ record from 2020, which featured notable country artists like Florida Georgia Line and Lady A. Lake’s heartfelt dedication to embracing faith and friendship through his music signals an exciting new chapter for both his career and the music industry as a whole.
