Irish band Cardinals has recently announced a string of tour dates in the US leading up to their performance at the Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City. The tour will kick off on May 7 in Somerville, MA, making stops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Seattle, with more dates potentially to be added. Their debut album, Masquerade, is set for release on February 13 via So Young.

Frontman Euan Manning shared insights into the band’s new single, “I Like You,” which serves as a preview of their forthcoming album. Manning describes the track as a cathartic experience, marking their return to music creation after a period of stagnation. Written one morning in February, the song captures a sense of grounding and direction after feeling adrift. Manning also notes that the first lyric of the song, inspired by the tune “My Funny Valentine,” offers a nostalgic homage to the music of Chet Baker, drawing listeners into a world of musical influences that shaped the band’s sound.

The Cardinals’ tour will begin with shows in Ireland, including stops in Belfast, Cork, and Dublin, before heading to the UK for performances in Bristol, London, and Manchester, among others. The band’s US tour will see them play venues such as Rockwell’s in Somerville, Main Drag in New York, Gold Diggers in Los Angeles, and Barboza in Seattle, culminating in their appearance at the Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City from May 15 to May 17.

Fans can expect a dynamic live experience from Cardinals, showcasing songs from their debut album in an energetic and captivating performance. With a sound that blends influences from various genres, Cardinals bring a unique and engaging musical perspective that is sure to resonate with audiences across the US and beyond.

As anticipation builds for the release of Masquerade and the band’s upcoming tour dates, Cardinals’ announcement signals an exciting new chapter for the Irish group.
