Courtney Barnett reveals upcoming album titled Creature Of Habit
Courtney Barnett is set to unveil her fourth studio album, Creature Of Habit, on March 27, released through Fiction Records. This new 10-track album marks a significant shift in creativity for the artist, following a period of change and introspection after her move from Australia to Los Angeles and the closure of her label, Milk! Records.
Creature Of Habit represents a fresh chapter in Barnett’s evolution, blending intimacy with expansiveness as she explores how to break free from self-imposed limitations to truly experience and not just endure life. Known for her insightful lyricism, Barnett’s new single “Site Unseen” featuring Waxahatchee, showcases a reflective tone that underlines the album’s theme of embracing change with an open heart.
The track “Site Unseen” holds personal significance for Barnett, as it features harmonies from Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield, one of her musical favorites. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to record the song, Barnett found the missing piece with Crutchfield’s vocals, adding depth and emotion to the track.
“Site Unseen” follows Barnett’s previous release in October 2025, “Stay In Your Lane,” which exuded a raw energy and unfiltered honesty, reaffirming Barnett’s position as a prominent figure in modern rock music.
