Rush is set to mark the 40th anniversary of their 1984 album “Grace Under Pressure” with an upcoming expansive box set that will be available in various formats. The Super Deluxe Edition will consist of five discs, containing four CDs and one Blu-ray, featuring a fresh mix of the album and a live performance from the band’s hometown of Toronto, along with Dolby Atmos mixes. This milestone box set will be released in March, paying homage to the band’s 10th studio album that was released in April 1984 and reached No. 10 on the charts in the United States.

The album “Grace Under Pressure” included the popular single “Distant Early Warning,” reaching No. 3 on the Billboard rock chart. Reflecting on the album, Geddy Lee acknowledged that their songwriting had evolved, leading them to explore a different musical direction. They experimented with new technologies such as keyboards, samples, and electronic drums, while collaborating with producer Peter Henderson, who brought a unique working dynamic to the table.

Embracing the nostalgic essence of the 40th anniversary celebration, surviving band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson enlisted Terry Brown to remix the original album. Brown, known for his work on Rush’s albums from “Fly by Night” to “Signals,” delivered a refreshed interpretation of the 1984 classic. The upcoming box set also captures the band’s concert from Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens on September 21, 1984, in its entirety for the first time, providing fans with a comprehensive live experience of the era.

Adding a personal touch to the commemorative release, Geddy Lee contributed his thoughts in writing liner notes for the box set, a departure from past reissues by the band. As fans anticipate the release of this special edition, they can expect a mix of old and new, blending familiar tracks with fresh interpretations to honor the legacy of “Grace Under Pressure.”

In conjunction with the box set announcement, Rush revealed plans for a 2026 tour, marking their return to the stage following the untimely passing of drummer Neil Peart in 2020. The tour is slated to kick off on June 7 in Los Angeles and conclude on December 17 in Vancouver, covering various cities including Chicago, Denver, and Atlanta. Anika Nilles will be joining the band to fill in for Neil Peart during the tour, marking a significant chapter in Rush’s history.

As fans eagerly anticipate both the release of the Deluxe Edition box set of “Grace Under Pressure” and Rush’s upcoming tour, the band continues to leave an indelible mark on the music industry with their timeless sound and enduring legacy. With a blend of classic hits and new surprises, Rush remains a fixture in the hearts of fans worldwide, celebrating four decades of musical excellence and artistic innovation.
