Melbourne’s metalcore group, The Gloom in the Corner, has made a comeback with their latest single, “Nope (Hollow Point Elysium),” as a preview of their upcoming album, “Royal Discordance,” set to release on Friday, February 27, through SharpTone Records.

The track is meticulously crafted with ever-shifting dynamics and cinematic pacing, reflecting the band’s deep-rooted fascination with storytelling drawn from pop culture. The song takes inspiration from action movies and video games that left an imprint on their youth, positioning metalcore as a visual and narrative experience rather than just a confrontational one.

The release of “Nope (Hollow Point Elysium)” provides listeners with a sneak peek into “Royal Discordance,” an album that navigates between forceful, impactful tracks like the previously released “Assassination Run” and more expansive compositions such as “You Didn’t Like Me Then (You Won’t Like Me Now).” The album culminates with “Love 1: A Quaver Through the Pale” and “Love 2: A Walk Amongst The Poppy Fields,” a two-part suite that underscores the band’s commitment to coherence and long-form storytelling.

Following their European tour supporting Aviana, The Gloom in the Corner will return to Australia to join King 810 on their national tour in March. Additionally, they are scheduled to perform on the sold-out Hellbound Cruise later this year, sharing the stage with Parkway Drive and Polaris, among other prominent acts.
