Supertramp to release half-speed remasters in 2026
Supertramp is celebrating their 50th anniversary with the release of half-speed remasters for three of their iconic albums. These include “Even in the Quietest Moments…,” “Breakfast in America,” and “…Famous Last Words….” These albums, remastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, are set to release on March 20, 2026. The album “Even in the Quietest Moments…,” which came out in 1977, attained immediate success, peaking at #16 on the Billboard charts. The opening track, “Give A Little Bit,” also made it to #15 on the Hot 100.
Following this success, Supertramp released their sixth album, “Breakfast in America,” in 1979, which turned out to be their most commercially successful album. It has sold over 22 million copies globally, garnered two billion streams, and spent an impressive 88 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. The album featured hit singles like “The Logical Song,” “Goodbye Stranger,” and “Take The Long Way Home,” all of which climbed into the top 15 of the Hot 100. Tracks like “Oh Darling” have since become fan favorites. In 1979, “Breakfast in America” was the top-selling album in the U.S., receiving numerous accolades, including two Grammy Awards and an Ivor Novello Award for “The Logical Song.”
Lastly, “Famous Last Words…,” released in 1982, marked the final album featuring the band’s classic lineup. With members like Roger Hodgson, Rick Davies, John Helliwell, Dougie Thomson, and Bob Siebenberg, this album reached #5 in the U.S. and #6 in the U.K. The notable single from this album was “It’s Raining Again.”
