The well-known educational program, “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” University, is making a comeback to the Gulf Coast on March 21-22 with a focus on saltwater inshore fishing in Fort Myers at Bass Pro Shops. The event features a seminar on Saturday and an optional guided fishing experience on charter boats on Sunday. Organized by the non-profit Ladies Let’s Go Fishing Foundation, the program includes classroom instruction, hands-on fishing activities, conservation efforts, networking opportunities, and the option to go fishing on a boat. No prior equipment or experience is necessary to participate.

Tailored for women and teens interested in learning about local fishing, this unique “No-Yelling School of Fishing” provides an immersive educational experience on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day kicks off with informative presentations by Captain Barry Nicholls, also known as “Cuda,” covering topics such as inshore and backcountry fishing, equipment usage, and conservation practices. Following the presentations are practical, hands-on fishing skills sessions where participants can practice releasing, dehooking, knot tying, lure usage, casting techniques, and fish fighting methods under the guidance of local experts.

Moreover, on Sunday, attendees have the opportunity to participate in fishing expeditions on flats charters to catch species like redfish, snook, and trout. The Bass Pro Shops location in Fort Myers at Gulf Coast Town Center is the venue for this exciting event. Registration starts at $99, with a discounted rate of $55 each for mothers bringing along teens. The registration fee covers instruction, equipment usage, hands-on training, fundraisers, and gifts valued at $20. Enrollment is limited, so early registration is recommended. Additional fees apply for the Sunday inshore fishing experience.

The “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing” series is made possible with the support of key partners such as Mercury, Magic Tilt trailers, Power-Pole, Penn, Lowrance, and Fish Florida. The foundation’s largest annual sponsors include ICOM, CCA Florida STAR, Bob’s Machine Shop, AFTCO, Smith Optics, Frogg Toggs, and others, while additional support comes from various sponsors listed on the website.

For those interested in upcoming LLGF events, the organization has an exciting lineup planned for 2026, including tournaments, fishing seminars, and on-water learning opportunities in locations like Islamorada, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Naples, Tavernier, Mexico, Dania Beach, and Islamorada in the Florida Keys. More information on these events can be found on the Ladies Let’s Go Fishing website or by contacting the foundation directly through phone or email.
