Dave Mustaine considering solo album if Megadeth breaks up

Despite hints of a solo project decades ago connected to an injury that led him to believe his time of playing was over, Mustaine reignited his musical passion after a performance that showcased his talent in a benefit concert for a deceased crew member. Although there was an initial attempt to reunite with the former Megadeth lineup, the reconnection failed, leading Mustaine to collaborate with other musicians, including Vinnie Colaiuta as the drummer and Jimmie Sloas on bass. An album that was initially supposed to be a solo project was eventually released under the Megadeth name, showing fans a fresh slew of work from the band.
