Famous ’70s Rock Band Reunites for Tour After 23-Year Hiatus

The Guess Who, the iconic ’70s rock band, has made a comeback with a much-anticipated reunion tour after a hiatus of 23 years. The announcement of their tour was made public through Instagram in late 2025, revealing plans to tour over a dozen cities in Canada from late January to August.

The 2026 reunion tour is significant for various reasons, notably marking the reunion of original members guitarist Randy Bachman and pianist Burton Cummings, who last performed together in 2003. It also signals the band’s return after successfully reclaiming the rights to their name.

In 2023, Bachman and Cummings initiated legal proceedings against original bassist Jim Kale and drummer Garry Peterson on grounds of false advertising. The lawsuit alleged that Kale and Peterson were essentially operating as a “cover band” following Cummings losing performing rights to several Guess Who songs.

The tour kicked off on a high note, starting in Niagara Falls, Ontario, with a setlist that included a blend of Bachman-Turner Overdrive tracks and classic Guess Who hits. The repertoire featured songs like “969 (The Oldest Man),” “These Eyes,” “American Woman,” among others, showcasing the band’s enduring appeal.

Formed in 1965 by Chad Allan, Bachman, Kale, and Peterson, The Guess Who saw Cummings replace Allan as the lead vocalist and primary songwriter in early 1966. Over the next decade, they released 11 studio albums, enjoying commercial success and critical acclaim. The band’s enduring popularity and status as Canada’s original internationally renowned classic rock band have kept them relevant to this day.
