Chuck Negron, a founding member and the lead singer of the iconic American music group Three Dog Night, passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 83 at his residence in Studio City, California. Known for his powerful vocals in hits like “Joy To the World” and “One,” Negron had been battling chronic COPD for 30 years before his passing. Reaching a point of reconciliation, he and his fellow Three Dog Night founder, Danny Hutton, reconnected last year to reconcile their longstanding differences.

Continuing to perform extensively, Negron toured with the popular Happy Together revue until 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic halted live performances indefinitely due to his fragile health.
In his final months, Negron battled heart failure in addition to COPD, underscoring his enduring resilience despite the adversities he faced.
