In 1979, Buddy Holly was honored as the inaugural member of the West Texas Walk of Fame by his friend and bandmate, Waylon Jennings. Subsequently, two decades later, the Buddy Holly Center was inaugurated, showcasing memorabilia from his formative years and heartfelt tributes from musicians devoted to his memory. Visitors to the center can even immerse themselves in the ambience where the iconic lyrics of “Peggy Sue” were conceived for the future classic love song.
