Teramo to Host 4th MoonJune Festival: International Music Festival of Diverse Genres
MoonJune Music is gearing up to mark its 25th anniversary in 2026 by hosting the MoonJune Festival for the fourth time. Scheduled to run from July 23 to 25 in Teramo, Italy, with a welcome party on July 22, this three-day event promises to deliver an array of musical genres under the banner “The 4th MoonJune Festival: International Festival of Eclectic Music.”
Established in New York City in 2001 by Leonardo Pavkovic, sometimes affectionately known as Mr. MoonJune, MoonJune Music has cultivated a niche as a specialized record label and talent agency with a focus on progressive music and its adjacent territories. Although Pavkovic later moved the business to Toledo, Spain, he persists in producing and presenting artists in the domains of contemporary jazz, progressive rock, and experimental soundscapes.
Emerging in partnership with Let’s Get Lost by Music By Eder, a local concert promotion entity linked to the cultural association Music By Eder Est, the 2026 Teramo installment is being guided by Emiliano “Eder” Di Serafino, a well-known producer in the Teramo vicinity and the greater Abruzzo region.
Since its inception, the MoonJune Festival has migrated from city to city: commencing in Jajce, Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2022, followed by stints in Toledo, Spain in 2023, and Guadamur, Spain in 2024. In 2026, the festival relocates to Italy, a move that holds personal significance for Pavkovic, who has harbored a deep connection to the country since the early 1970s.
The festival acts constitute a fusion of progressive rock luminaries and cutting-edge hybrids. The roster boasts headliners like iconic jazz-rock outfit Soft Machine, sharing the stage with virtuoso Gary Husband; legendary psychedelic progressive rock band Gong, featuring the trailblazing Steve Hillage; and the illustrious Osanna from Naples, esteemed for their work in rock progresivo italiano, accompanied by special guest David Jackson from Van Der Graaf Generator, among others. The program will spotlight progressive rock, jazz, fusion, avant-rock, and world music genres, mirroring MoonJune’s steadfast commitment to presenting global artists who transcend restrictive categories.
Beyond the live musical performances, the festival’s July 22-25 schedule will incorporate roundtable discussions and guided tours to spotlight local gastronomic delights, natural attractions, and historical sites, in partnership with regional institutions. The MoonJune Festival endeavors to position Teramo as an international nexus for attendees familiar with past MoonJune events, with music serving as a constant soundtrack for four days of communal celebration.
