Zayn Malik announces upcoming album release and major solo tour

Zayn explains on his website that Konnakol involves creating percussive sounds using one’s voice, drawing inspiration from South Indian Carnatic music. This culturally inspired project represents a significant departure for Zayn, who has previously incorporated South Asian influences in his music, as seen in his collaborations and performances featuring Urdu lyrics.
Notably, the album art of “Konnakol,” which showcases a fusion of Zayn’s face with a snow leopard, is believed to have ties to South Asian mythology. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the album on 17 April to discover if it will feature the vocal percussion technique it’s named after.
