Metalcore veterans Haste The Day are back with a vengeance, announcing the release of their latest album “Dissenter,” set to hit shelves on May 1 through Solid State Records. This album marks their first full-length album debut since the release of “Coward” in 2015 and their first studio album in over a decade, signaling a triumphant return for the band after years of dormancy and a much-anticipated reunion that has reignited fan enthusiasm.

Accompanying the fantastic news is the unveiling of a visualizer for the blistering new single “Shallows.” This track encompasses what Haste The Day is best known for, encapsulating the essence that made them a pioneering force in metalcore during the early 2000s. The band’s remark on the song, stating that “‘Shallows’ captures the core of what we set out to create on this record – aggressive, melodic metalcore,” highlights the driving force behind the track. The song brims with high-energy riffs, potent breakdowns, and a standout chorus that effectively blends nostalgia with contemporary influences. Lyrically, the tune delves into themes of disillusionment, corruption, and the consequences of defiance.

Since signaling their comeback in 2024 with the release of the track “Burn” – their first new music in almost a decade, and a standout performance at Furnace Fest that same year, Haste The Day has proven that the fervor for their music has not waned. With the launch of “Dissenter,” Haste The Day seems to have come full circle as they strive to revive the essence of their signature style. The album artfully hones in on their distinctive vibe by refining their melodies, intensifying the edges, and expanding their horizons with a hint of cinematic grandeur. The record showcases a band deeply in touch with their roots while paving the way forward with a newfound sense of purpose.

Haste The Day has maintained their integrity since their inception at the turn of the century. Over the years, the band has produced a catalog of releases that have solidified their presence in the metalcore scene, beginning with seminal albums like “Burning Bridges” and “When Everything Falls.” Vocalist Stephen Keech’s debut on “Pressure the Hinges,” which paved the way for acclaimed releases like “Dreamer,” “Attack of the Wolf King,” and “Coward,” further solidified their reputation in the metalcore genre. “Coward” in particular made a significant impact, securing the band their second consecutive Top 20 placement on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart and their second Top 10 ranking on the Hard Rock Albums chart. Their extensive touring with a range of artists, from Hollywood Undead to Norma Jean, serves as a testament to their reputation as cultural leaders and seasoned live performers.
