Kid Rock made headlines with his new haircut as he headlined Turning Point USA’s alternative Super Bowl halftime show, drawing over 6 million viewers. This unconventional show took place as Super Bowl XL progressed, featuring a lineup that included Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett.

The event, known as “The All-American Halftime Show,” was organized by Turning Point USA, a conservative political action group. Kid Rock, known for his diverse musical style spanning rap, rock, and country genres, made a surprising appearance with a trimmed hairstyle for the first time in 30 years. Donning a fur coat and denim shorts, Kid Rock kicked off the show with his iconic hit “Bawitdaba” from 1999. He later returned to the stage in a Detroit cap to perform a country cover of Cody Johnson’s “’Til I Can’t,” incorporating a verse dedicated to the late Charlie Kirk, the TPUSA founder.

In addition to Kid Rock’s performances, Brantley Gilbert and Lee Brice also took the stage to entertain the audience. The show paid homage to Charlie Kirk, with TPUSA’s Jack Posobiec acknowledging the slain conservative leader at the beginning of the event. Brice introduced a new song, “Country Nowadays,” with a special dedication to Kirk, further emphasizing the sentiment behind the halftime showcase.

The “All-American Halftime Show” was well-received by viewers, with its slick production and seamless transitions indicating that the performances were pre-recorded. Despite the absence of a live audience, the energy of the show was palpable, with the artists delivering spirited performances against the backdrop of a dynamic stage setting.

Kid Rock’s participation in this alternative halftime show brought a unique blend of music styles and political undertones to the forefront. His presence, alongside other talented artists, added a layer of diversity to the entertainment landscape on football’s biggest night. The event served as a departure from the traditional Super Bowl halftime show, offering a distinctive experience that resonated with over 6 million viewers tuning in for a memorable evening of music and celebration.
