VOIVOD plans to release new album, live album, and video game
Voivod is back in action with a flurry of new projects and a jam-packed touring schedule. The Canadian sci-fi metal pioneers recently unveiled their upcoming North American and European tour dates in addition to sharing an update on their studio work and a revamped classic video.
Drummer Michel “Away” Langevin provided some insight into the band’s current undertakings, stating, “We are gearing up for a very exciting year in the Voivod camp as we are working on multiple projects simultaneously. We have a brand-new setlist prepared for a few tours scheduled in 2026, where we will be sharing the stage with good friends like Midnight and Bat. Simultaneously, we are in the process of mixing the Quebec City Symphonique Live album while also recording our next studio LP. Furthermore, a video game developed by Chaosmonger Studio is currently in progress.”
The recently released video for their classic track “Condemned To The Gallows (2023 Version)” revisits the first song Voivod ever wrote. Originally intended for release in 2023, technical issues delayed the project. However, Pierre, who also worked on the video ‘Planet Eaters’ for the band, managed to retrieve and salvage the lost data over the past few years, resulting in a fantastic video that fans can now enjoy.
Directed by Pierre Ménétrier and produced by Esprit Pop, the video ties into the band’s 40th-anniversary release Morgöth Tales, celebrating Voivod’s enduring influence on sci-fi-infused metal. Catch Voivod at one of their many tour dates listed below:
