Deftones invite a fan to play on stage at arena concert
Deftones, the nu metal heavyweights, made a fan’s dream come true during a recent show in Poland when they invited a guitarist named Kacper to perform with them on stage. The fan, who had been holding up a sign throughout their set, got the chance to play the song “7 Words” alongside the band in front of a sold-out crowd at the Atlas Arena in Lódz.
Vocalist Chino Moreno noticed Kacper’s sign and asked him which song he would like to play. With a playful exchange, Moreno joked about other instruments before confirming that Kacper could join them for a special moment. As the band approached the end of their set, Kacper was called up on stage to play with them.
Stepping onto the stage, Kacper was handed Chino Moreno’s Gibson SG by a guitar technician. Despite the pressure of playing in front of a massive crowd, Kacper seamlessly joined drummer Abe Cunningham and interacted with touring members Lance Jackman on guitar and Fred Sablan on bass. Fans were left wondering why the band’s main guitarist, Stephen Carpenter, does not tour overseas with them.
As the song came to a close, Kacper was met with a hero’s reception from the audience, basking in the glowing cheers and applause under the venue’s bright house lights. This heartwarming moment not only fulfilled a fan’s dream but also showcased the band’s connection with their dedicated audience.
In other news, Moreno reflected on the challenges faced while creating the seminal LP, “White Pony,” in 2000. Despite the album’s success, the creative process was not without its hurdles, highlighting the dedication and effort that go into producing music at the highest level.
This unforgettable experience between Deftones and their devoted fan demonstrates the power of music to bring people together and create lasting memories. It serves as a reminder of the special bond between artists and their supporters, illustrating the mutual appreciation and admiration that can exist within the music community. Through moments like these, fans are not only able to witness their favorite artists performing live but also actively participate in the magic of the music-making process.
The interaction between Kacper and Deftones exemplifies the passion and enthusiasm that fans bring to live performances, adding a unique and personal touch to the concert experience. As the band continues to tour and connect with audiences around the world, moments like this highlight the profound impact that music can have on individuals and the community at large.
