Rock the Country Festival cancels South Carolina stop due to performers withdrawing
Organizers of the Rock the Country Festival made the tough decision to cancel the upcoming stop in Anderson, South Carolina, which was set to take place on July 25 and 26. This change came after several artists from the lineup dropped out of the tour, Rolling Stone revealed. Shinedown was the first to announce their withdrawal from the festival, expressing their desire to unite people through music rather than divide them. Following suit, Ludacris, Morgan Wade, and Carter Faith also decided not to perform at the South Carolina stop after initially being included in the lineup.
The Anderson event was en route to showcase big names in the music industry like Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Creed, Brantley Gilbert, Gretchen Wilson, and Parmalee. Unfortunately, with some performers unable to make it, the festival organizers had to prioritize the quality of the show for their dedicated fans. In a statement released on Monday, the organizers expressed their disappointment at having to cancel the Anderson stop but emphasized their commitment to delivering top-notch performances.
Originally planned to visit eight cities across the United States, the tour now only includes seven stops, starting in Belleville, Texas on May 1 and 2 and concluding in Hamburg, New York on September 11 and 12. Although the South Carolina leg had to be scrapped, the organizers remain dedicated to providing unforgettable nights of music, community, and hometown pride throughout the rest of the tour.
Rock the Country Festival was founded with the goal of bringing people together through the power of music. The festival organizers are determined to uphold this mission, even in the face of unexpected setbacks like the cancellation of the Anderson stop. Despite this disappointment, the remaining shows are set to go on as scheduled, showcasing a lineup of talented artists and celebrating the spirit of music and togetherness. Kid Rock, the brain behind the tour’s inception in 2024, has been a driving force in bringing the festival to various towns across the country.
Anderson County administrator Rusty Burns expressed disappointment at the festival’s absence from the area this year, noting the significant economic impact it had on the region in previous years. While the Anderson stop may not be happening as planned, the Rock the Country Festival remains dedicated to honoring its fans, supporting its artists, and delivering a one-of-a-kind experience in each town it visits. Through music, community, and a shared sense of pride, the festival continues to bring people together and create unforgettable memories for fans across the country.
