Aro presents new song “Mundane” as 13th Floor Song of the Day

On February 13th, 2026, the talented Te Tiriti-based duo Aro released their latest song, “Mundane.” Following the hopeful tone of their first single, “Puna Ora,” this new track delves into the repetitive nature of everyday life. The song explores the struggle of deeply believing in a cause or purpose while feeling trapped in monotonous routines that hinder personal growth.

In the accompanying music video, set in a roller skating rink, the theme of breaking free from mundane cycles is vividly depicted. The video juxtaposes the dullness of routine with moments of playful abandon, serving as a visual metaphor for rediscovering joy and freedom within the ordinary.

Aro, consisting of Charles and Emily Looker, infuse their music with elements of pop, jazz, folk, soul, and haka-inspired motifs. Their work is deeply rooted in the values of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga, emphasizing the importance of caring for oneself, others, and the environment.
