The tragic news of the passing of Tim Very, the drummer for the beloved indie rock band Manchester Orchestra, has left fans devastated. The announcement was made by the band on social media, although the cause of his death remains undisclosed. Very, who was 42 years old, was described in the statement as an incredibly cherished individual by the entire Manchester Orchestra family. His warm and kind-hearted nature made him instantly likable, with an infectious laugh that brightened the mood of everyone he encountered. His humor and energy were the glue that held the band together, turning strangers into friends and friends into family.

Timothy Very, who was born in Pensacola, FL on November 22, 1983, had a strong musical background, having played in church alongside Andy Prince, the band’s bassist. Prior to his time with Manchester Orchestra, Very was part of the San Diego rock group Waking Ashland before joining the band in 2011. Throughout his tenure, he contributed to multiple albums, including “Simple Math” in 2011, “Cope” in 2014, “A Black Mile To The Surface” in 2017, and “The Million Masks Of God” released in 2021. Apart from his work with Manchester Orchestra, Very collaborated with other artists on various tracks and even ventured into podcasting, launching an interview podcast series in 2019.

His performance with the band at the 15th annual the Stuffing event, Manchester Orchestra’s Thanksgiving hometown benefit, marked his final appearance. The band recently announced the forthcoming release of a live LP titled “Union Chapel (London, England)” set to be released on March 20 via Loma Vista. Very’s legacy extended beyond his musical contributions as he was described as a devoted family man who adored spending time with his loved ones. His positive energy and love for creating music were unparalleled, leaving a lasting impact on all those who knew him.
