Kid Rock’s ‘Rock the Country’ festival in jeopardy as only 200 tickets sold
Kid Rock’s highly-anticipated Rock the Country festival is facing potential cancellation for one of its scheduled stops due to disappointing ticket sales. The festival, which was designed as a “MAGA event,” has been plagued by various challenges, such as several artists, including Ludacris, Morgan Wade, Shinedown, and Jelly Roll, pulling out, and scheduled dates getting canceled as original lineups failed to materialize. Kid Rock, a 55-year-old singer, was set to headline the festival that was supposed to feature seven shows at seven different locations, showcasing a mix of country artists and other performers.
The venue in question, The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, PA, only managed to sell a mere 200 tickets for the June 20 event, which amounts to a mere three percent of the venue’s capacity of over 6,600 seats. The overwhelming lack of ticket sales has sparked humorous responses online, with one individual humorously commenting that fans may have had their fill of Kid Rock’s music during the Turning Point halftime show. Another person jestingly shared a story about finding free tickets to the event on their car windshield, prompting them to contact the authorities about this “heinous crime.”
Despite the ticket sales being far below expectations, the show has not been officially called off yet, although the absence of this particular stop from the festival’s website lineup suggests that it may have silently been removed from the schedule. The festival’s website lists upcoming concerts in various locations like Bellville, Texas; Bloomingdale, Georgia; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Ashland, Kentucky; Hastings, Michigan; Ocala, Florida; and Hamburg, New York. However, the integrity of the festival as a whole could be compromised if ticket sales do not pick up soon, especially considering the controversies surrounding certain ticket and camping package prices.
For instance, single-day tickets for shows in Kentucky, Michigan, and New York are priced starting from $89.99, while Florida tickets start at $95.99. Georgia concert seats begin at $101.99, with the Texas and South Dakota concerts charging $107.99 per ticket. The lineup for the festival includes other big-name country artists like Blake Shelton, Brantley Gilbert, Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Lauren Alaina, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Miranda Lambert.
It remains to be seen whether Kid Rock’s troubled festival can recover from the setbacks and potentially salvage the canceled stops to ensure that fans get to experience the promised performances. Fans are on tenterhooks waiting for further updates on the Rock the Country festival, hoping that the remaining shows will proceed as planned despite the challenges faced thus far.
