Rock icon Bruce Springsteen is hitting the road once again, using his platform to criticize President Donald Trump. Springsteen recently referred to Trump as a “wannabe king” and announced his upcoming “Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour” starting at the end of next month.

In a video shared on social media, Springsteen expressed concern about the current state of affairs in the country, describing them as dark, disturbing, and dangerous. He reassured his fans by stating that he and the E Street Band would be embarking on a tour from Minnesota to California, Texas, and Washington, D.C., to celebrate and defend American values and the Constitution, which he believes are under threat by the current administration.

The rock legend’s tour announcement follows the release of his latest protest song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” which criticizes Trump’s approach to illegal immigration. The song is a response to the administration’s deployment of federal agents to address immigration issues, particularly in Minnesota. While Trump’s immigration policies were central to his re-election campaign, the death of two U.S. citizens at the hands of federal agents in Minneapolis resulted in a winding down of operations in the state.

Springsteen, a vocal Trump critic, publicly supported Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 election and performed at her campaign rallies. At a concert in England last year, he condemned the administration as “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” In response, Trump dismissed Springsteen as an “obnoxious” individual with radical politics and questioned his talent.

Despite Trump’s disparaging remarks, Springsteen remained steadfast in his criticism, urging that the president should be relegated to the “trash heap of history.” Refusing to let Trump’s opinions affect him, Springsteen emphasized that he is focused on defending American values, even if it means facing opposition.

Known for his songs that resonate with working-class Americans, Springsteen has addressed the concerns of many who support Trump. He acknowledges that some people have bought into Trump’s deception and criticized the President for prioritizing his interests over those of ordinary Americans. In light of his upcoming tour, Springsteen extended an invitation to all, regardless of their beliefs, to join him for a journey of rock and rebellion.

The White House has yet to respond to Springsteen’s tour announcement. However, Springsteen’s determination to speak out against what he views as threats to American democracy demonstrates his commitment to using his platform to advocate for change and stand up to those in power.
