The Foo Fighters have unveiled details about their upcoming album after weeks of teasing, exciting fans worldwide. Christened “Your Favorite Toy,” this will be the band’s 12th studio album and is slated for release on April 24. The revealing of the album’s title track is bound to keep dedicated followers on edge in anticipation.

Lead man Dave Grohl shared insights into the creative process of the album, citing how the song “Your Favorite Toy” played a pivotal role in steering the album’s energy and sound direction. Grohl elaborates that discovering this track after a year-long journey of experimentation was the turning point that set the tone for the entire album: “The day it took shape, I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”

The new album, “Your Favorite Toy,” features the hit 2025 single “Asking for a Friend” and is the highly-anticipated follow-up to the Foo Fighters’ 2023 album “But Here We Are.” Notably, this will be the first full-length album with the band’s new drummer, Ilan Rubin, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, who joined the group after the tragic loss of Taylor Hawkins in 2022 to take over for Josh Freese in 2023.

Following the album’s release, fans can look forward to live performances as Foo Fighters will be hitting a couple of U.S. festivals in May, with dates in March typically coinciding with the onset of spring. Additionally, the band is set to embark on a North American stadium tour in August, bringing their electrifying energy to stages across the country.

For avid followers eager for a sneak peek into what “Your Favorite Toy” has in store, the tracklist offers glimpses into the upcoming sonic journey with titles like “Caught in the Echo,” “Of All People,” and “Window.” From energetic anthems like “Spit Shine” to introspective tracks like “If You Only Knew” and “Child Actor,” listeners can expect a diverse range of songs that capture the essence of Foo Fighters’ musical evolution.

“Your Favorite Toy” promises to be a testament to Foo Fighters’ enduring legacy, blending Grohl’s signature vocals with the band’s unique instrumentation and high-octane energy.
