U2 surprises fans with new EP titled ‘U2 – Days of Ash’
U2 recently showcased a surprise for their fans by dropping a new EP titled ‘U2 – Days of Ash.’ This unexpected release showcases a total of six tracks, including five new songs and a poem. The EP also features guest appearances by Ed Sheeran and Ukrainian musician-turned-soldier Taras Topolia, offering a unique blend of musical talent.
In a press release, the band describes the EP as a direct response to current events and a tribute to the brave individuals fighting for freedom. It serves as a precursor to a forthcoming U2 album slated for release later in the year. Frontman Bono expressed excitement about reuniting with the band in the studio to create this new collection of songs. The mood and themes of the tracks on ‘Days of Ash’ stand in contrast to what fans can expect from the band’s upcoming album, showcasing themes of defiance, dismay, and lamentation.

The latter track will be accompanied by a documentary directed by Ukrainian filmmaker Ilya Mikhaylus to mark the fourth anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24.
‘U2 – Days of Ash’ is now available on digital platforms, with lyric videos accompanying all the songs on YouTube. The tracklist includes songs like “The Tears of Things,” “Song of the Future,” “Wildpeace” by Yehuda Amichai, and “One Life At a Time.” This EP showcases U2’s commitment to creating meaningful and impactful music that resonates with their fans and addresses important contemporary issues.
