Foo Fighters have recently announced the upcoming release of their 12th studio album, titled Your Favorite Toy, which will be available on April 24th through Roswell Records/Columbia Records. The band has also released the title track from the album, which serves as a sharp introduction to their new music for 2026.

The title track, Your Favorite Toy, showcases the band’s signature sound with a twist, featuring stabbing guitars, sinister keyboard elements, and a driving rhythmic pulse. Dave Grohl’s vocals deliver a biting refrain in the chorus, emphasizing the lyrics “Someone threw away your favorite toy for good.” According to Grohl, this track set the tone and energy for the entire album’s creation process.

Grohl explains, “Your Favorite Toy really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album.” After experimenting with various sounds and dynamics, the band stumbled upon this track, which ultimately became the catalyst for the album’s development. This song led the way for the band to explore new sonic territories while staying true to their distinctive style, resulting in a collection of tracks that feel fresh and exciting.

Recorded at home, Your Favorite Toy was co-produced by the band alongside Oliver Roman, engineered by Roman, and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent. The album features ten tracks, including the previously released single “Asking For A Friend,” as well as new songs like “Caught In The Echo,” “Of All People,” “Unconditional,” and “Amen, Caveman.” The album’s release coincides with the band’s Take Cover world tour, kicking off on June 10th in Oslo and including headline appearances at US festivals like Welcome To Rockville and BottleRock Napa Valley.

The UK leg of the tour will feature two massive stadium shows at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool in June. This tour will also mark the debut of the band’s newest drummer, Ilan Rubin. Overall, Your Favorite Toy represents a new chapter for Foo Fighters, blending their iconic sound with fresh creativity and energy to captivate audiences around the world.
