City lab in Sapporo promotes collaboration among peers for community health.
The “Area Health (Co) Lab” event is a unique collaborative initiative where local residents, workers, and visitors come together to explore and discuss various aspects related to health and well-being in the Sapporo Ekimae-dori area. Held at the Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Pedestrian Space, this event aims to brainstorm ideas and solutions to promote overall health in the community.
Scheduled to take place from March 5th to March 7th in 2026, from 11:00 to 17:00 each day, the “Area Health (Co) Lab” will focus on the theme of “Autonomic Nerves.” Participants can engage in different labs and activities revolving around food, sleep, exercise, and mental health during the event. This will mark the second edition of the “Area Health (Co) Lab,” following the success of its inaugural run.
The event will be divided into specific labs based on the theme and activities scheduled for each day. On March 5th, labs such as the Radio Calisthenics Lab by Kanpo Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Body Measurement Lab by Sapporo City Sports Association, and Vegetable Lab by Sapporo City Wellness Promotion Division will be featured at the Kita 3-jo Intersection Plaza (West).
Moving to the Relaxation Space (W) on March 6th and March 7th, participants can explore labs focusing on Frailty Lab, Sleep Lab, Yogurt Lab, Calcium Lab, Exercise Lab, Breakfast Lab, and Autonomic Nerve Measurement Lab, among others. These labs will be hosted by various organizations and companies such as Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Sapporo Yakult Sales Co., Ltd., Meiji Co., Ltd., and Okamoto Co., Ltd.
The “Area Health (Co) Lab” is organized by Sapporo Ekimae-dori Town Development Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Sapporo City Wellness Promotion Division. Admission to the event is free of charge, providing an opportunity for individuals from all walks of life to participate and contribute to the discussions on community health and well-being.
