Studio D’Lux, under the leadership and production of singer-songwriter and keyboardist Doug Kistner, has recently unveiled their latest project titled “The Allstar Project.” This album features a lineup of esteemed musicians, including members known for their work with acclaimed bands such as Chicago, Steely Dan, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Styx, and Whitesnake. The album was officially released on February 3 across digital platforms as well as on CD. An album release event is set to take place on Sunday, March 1 at The Suffolk in Riverhead.

Crafted, penned, and produced by the talented Doug Kistner, “The Allstar Project” brings together a collection of previously released tracks that have been reinterpreted, along with a fresh addition titled “Turn The Page.” This new single has been expertly mixed by Grammy-winning producer Ron Nevison, known for his work with legendary acts such as Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Ozzy Osbourne. “Turn The Page” is already available for listeners to enjoy. Kistner shared his excitement about the project, particularly highlighting the collaborative efforts that made it possible, saying, “Most of ‘Turn the Page’ was already recorded but luckily, at the last minute I started singing the ‘Leave all that baggage behind you’ line. I’m really proud of the horn arrangement and the guys nailed it. It was really exciting to work with Ron Nevison for the first time too.”

The performance at The Suffolk will feature Kistner alongside Liberty DeVitto, renowned for his drumming with Billy Joel and Paul McCartney, Keith Howland from Chicago on guitar, and a skilled three-piece horn section. Together, they will showcase songs from the new album, in addition to hits by Chicago, Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, and other beloved tracks from the 1970s era. Kistner has had a rich history of musical endeavors, having played keyboards with notable acts like Trans-Siberian Orchestra, John Waite, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and Danny Seraphine, in addition to being featured in productions of “Movin’ Out.” Presently, he is part of The Lords of 52nd Street and Beginnings.

The musicians contributing to the album bring a wealth of experience and talent to the table, promising an exciting and dynamic listening experience for fans of classic rock and soulful tunes. The collaboration between Kistner and these seasoned artists has resulted in a collection of sounds that pay homage to the era of iconic rock bands while injecting a fresh and modern energy into the mix. “The Allstar Project” serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of music from decades past, reimagined through the lens of contemporary artistry and passion for the craft. For music enthusiasts looking to embark on a nostalgic journey through the golden age of rock, this album promises to deliver a captivating and immersive experience that celebrates the timeless allure of classic hits.
