Cathedral In Flames, a goth rock band from Prague, Czech Republic, has put out a new digital single called “Push The Fire” through Musicraft, accompanied by a video on YouTube. This release marks their first new material since their 2024 album titled “Count To Nine.”

“Push The Fire” is a story with metaphorical elements that touch on the act of pursuing women, employing vampire symbolism on the surface and hidden promises of everlasting love beneath. The band characterizes it as “vampire kitsch,” revolving around commitments of eternal love that transcend death, transitioning into feelings of anger and heightened violence as the seduction efforts falter.

The genesis of the song’s concept occurred during strolls around South Bohemian fish ponds in spring, encountering scenes of melting ice, mist, and gatherings of crows. Musically, “Push The Fire” embodies a direct goth rock’n’roll style. Notably, the single was produced and mixed by Brett Carruthers from The Birthday Massacre.

Cathedral In Flames, structured around lead vocalist and lyricist Phil Lee Fall and composer/multi-instrumentalist Gatsby, features Ambra von Bernstein on vocals, Billac deVille on guitar, and as of 2026, drummer Barney Estrada. The band’s introductory EP “Children Of The Blackest Hole” made its debut towards the end of 2019, subsequently released on vinyl in 2020 by Universal Sounds Group. In May 2021, they unveiled their inaugural full-length album named “Hang Me High & Bury Me Deep.”

Starting in 2020, Cathedral In Flames embarked on a series of single and EP releases, including “Desperado” (2020), “The Weeping Song” (April 2022), “Not Another Vampire Song” (December 2022), “Release The Pain” (April 2023), “Rebel Yell” (a cover of Billy Idol from October 2023), “Pale Rider” (February 2024), its related EP “Pale Rider RMXD” (June 2024), and “The Gate (The Path) John Fryer Remix” (November 2025). Alongside these, they presented two albums, “Hang Me High & Bury Me Deep” (2021) and “Count To Nine” (2024).

In April 2022, Cathedral In Flames paid tribute to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds by covering “The Weeping Song” to support fundraising efforts for Ukraine. The band’s composition and thematic structure have garnered attention and praise, solidifying their presence and contribution to the gothic rock genre.
