British band “A” finally reveals highly anticipated new album “PRANG”
British alternative rock band “A” has announced the upcoming release of their first studio album in over 20 years titled “PRANG.” The album is set to be released on May 22nd, 2026, via Cooking Vinyl. The lead single from the album, “Hello Sunshine,” has already generated a lot of excitement among fans as the band embraces their original carefree spirit and stylish sloppiness that defined their early days.
Formed in 1993 in Suffolk by childhood friends Jason Perry and Mark Chapman, along with Perry’s brothers Adam and Giles, “A” gained a dedicated following with albums like “How Ace Are Buildings” and “A Vs Monkey Kong.” Their chart-topping success came with 2002’s “Hi-Fi Serious,” which included the hit single “Nothing.” Following their last studio album in 2005, the band took a hiatus of over two decades, leaving fans eagerly awaiting new material.
Lead singer Jason Perry reflects on the band’s journey and the challenge of rediscovering their identity after such a long break, stating, “It was hard to know what ‘A’ was. We needed to find out what ‘A’ looks like today.” The process of reconnecting began organically through friendship, leading to spontaneous jam sessions and the creation of the lead single “Hello Sunshine,” which set the tone for the new album.
The album’s tracklist includes songs like “Walkover,” “Bring On The Likes,” and “Shit Summer,” capturing a range of emotions and musical styles.
