Plumpton Revival Festival set for summer in Sussex
This summer, music lovers can look forward to the Plumpton Revival Festival in Sussex, a rock event reminiscent of the iconic festivals that featured legendary bands like Pink Floyd and The Who over 50 years ago. The festival is scheduled to take place on August 8 and 9, 2026, at the Plumpton Racecourse.
The event aims to revive the spirit of the original 1969 and 1970 festivals that were pivotal in British counterculture history, eventually paving the way for the modern Reading Festival. Creative producer Theo Crew emphasized that the festival is not merely a tribute but a reclamation of a forgotten chapter of UK music history to engage a new generation of music enthusiasts.
The line-up for the festival will showcase top tribute acts paying homage to the legendary bands that once graced the Plumpton stage, such as Think Floyd, Who’s Next, and Dreams of Fleetwood Mac, along with contemporary blues and rock artists like Aynsley Lister and The James Oliver Band. Award-winning harmonica player Will Wilde and the UK Blues Awards nominees The Milk Men are also scheduled to perform.
Apart from stellar musical performances, attendees can expect an immersive 1970s experience throughout the racecourse grounds. Vintage markets, art installations, a retro funfair, and interactive walkabout actors will transport visitors back in time. In addition to music, the festival will feature comedic performances by popular TV personalities like Tony Law from ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ and Jarred Christmas from ‘Mock the Week,’ and even an appearance by entertainment legend Basil Brush.
For film enthusiasts, a pop-up cinema will screen classic rock films, and a full-scale circus with parades, workshops, and fire shows will add to the entertainment. The festival disco promises to keep the dance floor alive with funk, soul, and Motown classics from the era. VIP ticket holders can enjoy premium amenities like covered grandstand seating, a private bar, and fast-track entry for added convenience.
Tickets for the Plumpton Revival Festival are now available for purchase, with options ranging from general admission and day passes to camping tickets. Special discounts are offered for children and seniors, making the event inclusive and accessible to all. The festival promises to celebrate a significant cultural milestone that played a vital role in shaping the UK’s thriving festival landscape.
