Bearsville Bluegrass Festival to be Held in Woodstock for Memorial Day Weekend 2026
The Bearsville Bluegrass Festival is set to return to Bearsville Center in Woodstock on Sunday, May 24, for a day filled with live music, local food, and family-friendly entertainment. This annual event, which takes place over Memorial Day weekend, transforms Bearsville Park into a vibrant community gathering celebrating traditional bluegrass and roots music. Running from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., this year’s festival will showcase a lineup of regional performers and interactive activities for attendees to enjoy.
Among the performers scheduled for the 2026 edition of the festival are On the Trail with Austin Scelzo, Catskill Mountain String Band featuring Bruno Bruzzese, and Bugs on a Log String Band. The diverse musical lineup will feature a mix of traditional bluegrass, instrumental showcases, and high-energy string band performances designed to captivate audiences throughout the afternoon.
In addition to the musical performances, the festival offers a range of activities throughout the park. Attendees can participate in guided nature trails led by Dave Holden, take a Rock & Roll history tour with Larry Germack, and explore vendors from the Phoenicia Flea Market. Food vendors will be on-site serving festival favorites like brats, pulled pork, grilled corn, salted potatoes, and fresh watermelon.
For aspiring musicians, there is an opportunity to join a Wernick Method Jam Class hosted by Austin Scelzo from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Open to players of guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, bass, and dobro, the workshop is tailored for those comfortable with tuning their instruments and transitioning between common bluegrass chords. No prior jam experience is required, and tuition is $25 in advance or $30 onsite.
Organizers emphasize that the festival is family-friendly, with activities and games planned for all ages. Children are welcome to attend for free, making it a perfect outing for families looking to enjoy a day of live music in a picturesque setting. Advance tickets for the festival are available at $25 for general admission or two for $45, with VIP reserved pagoda seating for six priced at $250.
