Alice Cooper to speak in Brighton as part of upcoming tour
Legendary rock icon Alice Cooper has exciting news for fans as he gears up for a thrilling autobiography release this coming autumn. The 78-year-old musician will take readers on an unforgettable journey through his illustrious six-decade career with his upcoming memoir, “Devil On My Shoulder,” slated for launch on October 8.
Alice Cooper, born Vincent Furnier, rose to prominence with the Alice Cooper Band back in 1968, captivating audiences with hits like School’s Out, Elected, and No More Mr. Nice Guy. The memoir has been described as the “ultimate memoir,” promising an in-depth exploration of one of the most notable lives in the music industry.
Reflecting on his intriguing journey, Cooper shared, “Alice is still on tour around the world today, a proper senile delinquent playing hundreds of gigs every year, while I myself am reformed. And with the benefit of hindsight and a certain maturity, I’d like to describe our journey to hell and back together, because it’s not only rock stars who can lose their way.”
The autobiography will delve into the dichotomous nature of Cooper’s iconic stage persona and his personal life, illustrating how the two became intricately entwined. The rockstar shared insights into his identity crisis, stating, “I was born Vincent Damon Furnier but, seduced by my character’s reputation, changed my name legally to Alice Cooper, and in the process lost sight of who I really was. The mild-mannered, all-American boy I’d once been became a monster and a mortal danger to himself.”

After bidding adieu to the Alice Cooper Band in 1974, Cooper embarked on a solo career, cementing his legacy with a shift towards a heavier metal sound. Fans in the UK are in for a special treat as the rock sensation is set to kick off a speaking tour on October 11, with stops in Cardiff, Cambridge, London, Brighton, Manchester, Stockton, and Glasgow, culminating in a final event in Wolverhampton on October 20.
At each tour stop, Cooper will engage in thought-provoking conversations with a guest moderator and participate in an audience Q&A session, offering attendees a unique glimpse into his life and storied career. Tickets for the speaking tour will be available for purchase starting March 13.
