Temple Of Prog II Festival, hosted at The Brickyard in Carlisle, showcased some of the best and brightest talents in the progressive rock scene. The venue, formerly known as The Richmond Hall, boasts a rich history in the local music scene and was the perfect setting for a night of mind-bending cosmic experiences.

Idiogram, a young four-piece group from East Lothian, Scotland, kicked off the day with their ethereal instrumental soundscapes. Their set featured tracks like “Hyperaccumulator” and “Twilight Sleep,” with intricate guitar work and a seamless blend of instruments. With a mix of spoken word samples and bird songs, the band captivated the audience and left them wanting more.

Doris Brendel and Lee Dunham took the stage next, delivering a set filled with folk and blues influences. Doris’s smoky vocals paired beautifully with Lee’s acoustic guitar skills, creating a dynamic and engaging performance. Songs like “It Can Only Get Better” and “Never Too Late” showcased the duo’s versatility and ability to effortlessly switch between genres, keeping the audience captivated throughout.

Spriggan Mist, a festival favorite, brought their unique brand of pagan theatre to the stage, playing songs from their new album “The Glare.” With dragons, Celtic fairy myths, and foot-stomping melodies, the band delivered a mesmerizing performance. Tracks like “Faerywood” and “Pieces of Glass” highlighted the band’s exceptional musicianship and ability to transport the audience to a different world.

Festival organizer EBB took the stage next, with a theatrical performance that dazzled and confused the crowd. Swapping instruments and engaging in wild antics, the band delivered a set filled with complex and emotional songs. Highlights included “Reason,” a haunting ballad that showcased Erin’s songwriting and vocal abilities, and “Day 19,” a wild and exhilarating track that had the audience on their feet.

The night ended with a powerful performance of “Geneva,” a melodic and emotional track that left the audience wanting more. As the final notes faded away, it was clear that EBB had left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. The Temple Of Prog II Festival was a night to remember, showcasing the best that progressive rock has to offer and leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next installment.
