An arrest warrant for Kim Bada, the 55-year-old lead singer of the band Sinawe, who was apprehended on suspicion of cannabis possession and ingestion, was denied by the Sokcho Branch of the Chuncheon District Court on the 10th. The warrant had been sought by law enforcement following charges of violating drug control laws through the possession and use of marijuana. The court’s decision was grounded in the assessment that there was insufficient reason to believe that Kim Bada would tamper with evidence or attempt to evade authorities.

Kim Bada’s arrest took place at a residence in Sokcho on the evening of the 8th at 8:30 p.m. After gathering information on Kim Bada’s alleged marijuana use over the course of approximately two months, the police moved forward with securing an arrest warrant to ensure Kim Bada’s compliance with the investigation. Subsequently, Kim Bada, during a police interrogation session, reportedly acknowledged and confessed to the accusations leveled against him.

As a result, Sokcho Police Station proceeded to lodge a request for an initial arrest warrant for Kim Bada. On the 10th, Kim Bada made an appearance at the Sokcho Branch of the Chuncheon District Court for an interrogation preceding any potential arrest. Concurrently, the “Hero Rock Festival” issued a statement on the same day, expressing regret that Kim Bada, who had been slated to perform on April 26, would no longer be able to participate in the event due to unforeseen circumstances. The festival organizers solicited understanding from the audience and directed them to the revised lineup for further information.

Kim Bada had been listed to perform on the festival’s second day at the cultural reserve base in Mapo-gu, Seoul, marking a significant change in the event’s schedule following developments surrounding Kim Bada’s legal situation. Ultimately, the denial of the arrest warrant signifies a pivotal moment in Kim Bada’s ongoing legal proceedings, shedding light on the complexities surrounding the case and its implications for his future engagements within the music industry.
