Listen to the Scheitan goth ballad “Every Little Thing” video now.
Swedish gothic rock band Scheitan recently released a new music video for their song “Every Little Thing” from their latest album “Wine For a Tormented Soul,” which dropped in December of last year. The Circle Music put out this album. The band’s frontman, Pierre Tornkvist, described the track as dark, exploring the theme of life’s ultimate futility as everything around us deteriorates and dies. The visuals in the music video depict children playing, blissfully unaware of life’s harsh realities, alongside a lurking devil in the shadows.
This release comes on the heels of Scheitan’s recent appearance on Swedish national radio P4, where they performed their song “A Kiss of Death” live in-studio for an entire week. The album “Wine For a Tormented Soul” boasts eight tracks, featuring previously released singles like “Döden är helt underbar”, “Carry Me Home”, “Heaven Tonight”, “Love n Death” and “A Kiss of Death.” Pierre Tornkvist shared that the album’s title, “Wine For a Tormented Soul,” stems from the therapeutic nature of music, referring to how it can serve as a comforting companion during difficult times. He mentioned that music had been his therapy, especially in the past decade marked by tragic losses in his personal life.
After going through a 24-year hiatus, Scheitan returned in 2024 with the album “Songs for the Gothic People,” and now, they are following that up with “Wine For a Tormented Soul.” The band, which originally had black metal origins, has since transitioned to a gothic rock sound. Törnkvist expressed that the evolution of their music has allowed them to create a unique sound that resonates with their fans. If you’re keen to listen to their latest effort, “Wine For a Tormented Soul,” you can find it on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major streaming platforms. The band also plans to play their new songs live whenever possible to give fans a chance to experience the album in its entirety.
Scheitan’s previous albums, such as 1999’s “Nemesis” on Century Media, have been well-received within the music scene. Pierre Tornkvist is looking forward to sharing their latest album with fans, noting that this piece of work will give listeners an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their music. The band continues to push the boundaries of their sound, further solidifying their place in the gothic rock genre.
