Purple Group, a renowned production company in the Netherlands, recently made a significant investment in Martin Audio’s cutting-edge WPC and WPL Wavefront Precision line array systems. This purchase, facilitated by Dutch distributor Ampco Flashlight Sales, is a testament to Purple Group’s more than 30 years of industry experience in lighting, sound, video, and rigging.

The decision to acquire Martin Audio’s latest wavefront technology reflects Purple Group’s continued commitment to excellence and innovation. With a history of using Martin Audio’s legacy systems such as W8LC, W8LM, and Longbow, Purple Group saw the WPC and WPL arrays as a natural progression in their pursuit of high-quality audio solutions.

Managing day-to-day operations of the newly acquired systems are Guus Hoekstra and Robert de Loey of Purple Group. De Loey expressed his satisfaction with Martin Audio, emphasizing the brand’s reliability and ability to deliver exceptional sonic performance that appeals to both artists and engineers.

Initially, Purple Group selected the WPC arrays as their go-to rental solution due to their flexibility and performance capabilities. The WPC system, consisting of 24 elements and 24 SX218 dual-18” subwoofers, along with TORUS T1215 constant curvature loudspeakers as front fills, proved its mettle at events like Zwarte Cross and Nirwana Tuinfeest with acts like Kensington and Triggerfinger, drawing praise for its sound quality, coverage, and versatility.

Buoyed by the success of the WPC system, Purple Group further expanded their inventory by investing in 24 WPL large-format line array elements. This acquisition, along with 24 SXH218 high-output subwoofers, bolsters Purple Group’s capabilities, enabling them to cater to a wide range of shows – from festivals to indoor events. The third tranche of the investment now equips Purple Group with two state-of-the-art audio systems that are versatile, powerful, and future-proof.

Martijn de Jong from Ampco Flashlight Sales highlighted the strategic significance of these acquisitions, emphasizing the flexibility and performance capabilities of the WPC and WPL systems. Guus Hoekstra from Purple Group echoed this sentiment, underscoring the value of investing in cutting-edge technology that can enhance their service offerings and meet the diverse needs of their clients.

By incorporating Martin Audio’s WPC and WPL arrays into their inventory, Purple Group has solidified its position as a leading player in the production industry, reaffirming its commitment to excellence, innovation, and superior sound quality. This investment reflects Purple Group’s dedication to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in audio systems, ensuring that they continue to deliver exceptional experiences to their audiences at a wide range of events.
