Muse announce new album with space-launched premiere
English rock band Muse, known for their groundbreaking sound and theatrical live performances, has recently announced the upcoming release of their tenth studio album, The Wow! Signal. The band, which has won multiple Grammy Awards, is set to launch their new album on June 26, 2026, through Warner Records.
Muse took a unique and space-themed approach in revealing their new project. In collaboration with Sent Into Space, the band sent a specially designed tablet soaring 33 kilometers into the atmosphere to premiere the music video for the album’s lead single, Be With You. In addition, another payload carried stickers connected to a limited-edition vinyl release for fans to enjoy.
The forthcoming album, The Wow! Signal, follows Muse’s last full-length album, Will of the People, released in 2022, which debuted at the top of Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. To coincide with the announcement, the band unveiled “Be With You” along with a visually captivating music video starring Ella Balinska. Directed by Nico Paolillo, the video tells a striking story as Balinska’s character experiences mysterious events under a red halo that surrounds the moon. She encounters another affected individual, and together they witness a captivating phenomenon.
The track “Be With You” begins with a haunting church organ paired with frontman Matt Bellamy’s emotive vocals, later transitioning into a powerful mix of electronic and rock elements. The song’s narrative reflects a journey from despair to a newfound sense of purpose and determination.
The album’s title pays homage to the historic “Wow! signal,” a radio burst detected in 1977 from the constellation Sagittarius. The unique intensity and structure of the signal sparked speculation about a potential extraterrestrial origin. The astronomer who first identified it famously inscribed “Wow!” next to the sequence “6EQUJ5,” giving the phenomenon its enduring name.
