Former members of As I Lay Dying and Allegaeon, Mire, debut new single “The Master”
Upon departing from the tumultuous As I Lay Dying environment, ex-guitarist Nick Hipa appears to have found his stride with his latest musical endeavor, Mire.
The band’s latest single, “The Master,” showcases a blistering guitar solo courtesy of Hipa, with vocals by Benton McKibben, featuring Ryan Glisan on bass and guitar (formerly of Allegaeon) and JP Andrade on the drums. This track embodies a powerful, plodding intensity that sets the tone for their forthcoming album, Pale Reflection, set to release on April 10th. This album marks the band’s first release with this lineup, following significant delays due to the challenges of balancing everyday life, responsibilities, and logistics.
In a statement regarding the album’s announcement, Nick Hipa expressed his excitement about the upcoming release of new music from Mire. He humorously acknowledged the difficulties faced in the creative process, noting that the ideal time to unveil these tunes may have been in 2023 when the album was fully written, or in 2024 once it had been tracked. However, due to various obstacles, the unveiling is now set for the imminent future.
“The Master” serves as the third single released from Pale Reflection thus far, with streaming available on Bandcamp, and pre-orders for the album currently available. The tracklist for Pale Reflection includes songs such as “Pale Reflection,” “Cultures of Violence,” “The Master,” “Where I Belong,” “Great Pain,” “Human Condition,” “Significance Plague,” “Which One Am I,” and “Send Us.”
Mire’s dedication to their craft and the anticipation for their new album are evident in the raw power displayed in “The Master” and the meticulous execution of their music. Fans of the band are eagerly awaiting the release of Pale Reflection, ready to immerse themselves in the sonic landscape curated by this talented group of musicians.
