Kim Seung-ju energizes ‘The Glow 2026’

Kim Seung-ju, a talented musician, recently made a lasting impression at the popular indoor music festival ‘The Glow’. His debut appearance at ‘The Glow 2026’ held at Ilsan KINTEX was a smashing success as he took the stage and connected with the audience.

As the opening act for ‘Stage 37’, Kim Seung-ju kicked off the festival with a band session setup featuring guitar, bass, and drums. He flawlessly performed a series of songs including ‘Engine’, ‘These Fries Are Like an Hourglass’, ‘Rule of the Protagonist’, and ‘The Cake Is Pitiful’, showcasing his live performance skills and stage presence. The crowd was electrified when he surprised everyone with a premiere of his unreleased track ‘Diary (working title)’, sparking a wave of excitement among the audience.

Transitioning into a 1990s retro vibe, Kim Seung-ju belted out hits such as ‘Urban Bombing’, ‘An Acoustic Guitar Singer Who Cannot Save Humanity’, and ‘CATCH’, exuding powerful energy and raising the temperature at the venue. The enthusiastic response from the audience fueled his performance, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. To wrap up his set, Kim Seung-ju chose to perform the title track ‘Shonen Manga’ from his EP ‘Shonen Manga’, signifying the importance of his first appearance at ‘The Glow’. This track, created over two years of hard work on the Shonen Manga series, highlighted the value of unity and shared moments with his fans, leaving a lasting impact.

Outside of ‘The Glow’, Kim Seung-ju has been actively involved in various musical endeavors, from solo concerts like ‘HINT III’ earlier this year to OST releases and performances. He is gearing up for a solo show at ‘Hyundai Card Curated 104’ on the 29th and is scheduled to perform at events such as ’A Sunny Spot‘, ’Peak Festival 2026‘, and ’The 79th Live Club Day‘ in May.

Since his debut in 2020, Kim Seung-ju has established a unique musical identity characterized by a rock-centric, comic-inspired sound, distinctive language, and a narrative style honed through storytelling. Notable achievements, such as winning the Grand Prize at the 32nd Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition and placing in the TOP 6 at the ‘2025 Penta Super Rookie FINAL’ stage, have solidified his talent and appeal. His solo concert ‘HINT III’ was a massive success, selling out all seats and prompting the addition of more shows due to overwhelming demand, a testament to his rising popularity and artistic prowess.
