TOUCHED victorious in ‘Immortal Songs’ grand final for 30th anniversary memorial special
Rock band TOUCHED achieved their very first overall victory on the KBS2 ‘Immortal Songs – Kim Kwang-seok 30th-anniversary memorial special’ that was broadcast on the 21st of last month, marking a significant milestone for the group. Vocalist Yoonmin expressed, “The reason I got into singing was through covering songs by Kim Kwang-seok,” emphasizing his deep connection to the late singer’s music. He added, “I have always admired Kim Kwang-seok’s music and frequently performed it,” highlighting the personal significance of the performance for him.
In the past, TOUCHED had participated in the ‘Immortal Songs’ Legend Remake Special in 2023, where they presented ‘Becoming Dust’ and secured three consecutive wins. Despite their strong showing, they narrowly missed out on the ultimate title after being bested by singer Yoo Hoe-seung. They also made an appearance at the 2025 ‘Rock Festival Special’ but were unable to clinch a victory on that occasion.
However, during the recent airing of the KBS2 ‘Immortal Songs – Kim Kwang-seok 30th-anniversary memorial special’, TOUCHED finally emerged victorious, earning their first overall win. This triumph was made even more poignant as it paid tribute to Kim Kwang-seok, who served as the inspiration for vocalist Yoonmin to pursue a career in music.
The band, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Yoonmin, drummer Kim Seung-bin, bassist Jonbi Kim, and keyboardist Chae Do-hyun- all graduates of the Department of Applied Music at the Seoul Institute of the Arts, has garnered attention for their music that seamlessly blends powerful live performances with delicate emotions. In 2020, TOUCHED made history by becoming the first band to claim the grand prize at the ‘Yoo Jae-ha Music Competition’. In 2022, they further solidified their reputation by winning the Mnet band survival program ‘Great Seoul Invasion’, expanding their fan base significantly.
Following their successes, TOUCHED went on to perform at major music festivals in South Korea including Beautiful Mint Life, Grand Mint Festival, Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival, and Busan International Rock Festival. Additionally, the group held successful solo concerts, establishing themselves as a prominent force in the Korean band landscape.
By organizing the TOUCHED branded concert series ‘HIGHLIGHT’ 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well as various live performances, the band has honed their reputation as a group focused on delivering captivating performances. Notably, TOUCHED garnered attention within the local music scene with ‘ATTRACTION’, a festival-style concert that prioritized fostering connections with their fan base, distinguishing them as one of the few domestic bands to emphasize fan interaction.
