Jungmo: For me, it is “29.07”. The lyrics and the sounds really seemed like Catch The Young, and it was interesting to see how the song evolved while discussing and working on it together.
Junyong: “Blue City” is my favorite track on the album. I remember feeling really good while we were recording the melodica for the song.
How do you hope listeners feel or what do you hope they take away after listening to EVOLVE?
Sani: When someone listens to EVOLVE, I hope they can immerse themselves deeply in our world. We put a lot of effort into creating diverse sounds and stories that cover various emotions and moments in life, so I hope listeners can feel our sincerity and message through the music.
Kihoon: I hope that through our music, listeners can draw strength, comfort, and courage. It would be nice if just once, our music had that effect on someone who listens.
Namhyun: I hope that when listeners come to know about Catch The Young after listening to EVOLVE, they don’t stop at that point but take interest in actively following our artists. It would be great if our music becomes a source of comfort and support for those who are tired or having a difficult time.
Jungmo: I hope that through our album, listeners can feel even a tiny bit of comfort and catharsis. It would be really nice if the music could become a medium that makes their day a little brighter and more meaningful.
Junyong: We put a lot of effort into creating songs that contain various emotions, so I hope those who listen can relate to the music and find some comfort and healing in it as they undergo different experiences in life.
What have been some of the most memorable moments of your career so far?
Sani: Our performances at big festivals like the Young Music Festival and M-bit Festival are unforgettable. It was an honor to be alongside musicians we admired and wanted to perform with ourselves.
Kihoon: The time we collectively stayed up all night to finish our album before it was due is a particularly strong memory. We worked without rest or sleep, putting everything into it right up until the moment it was complete.
Namhyun: When we opened for a band we admired, I remember feeling incredibly nervous but also thankful and full of gratitude to be sharing the stage with such talented artists.
Jungmo: One of the most memorable moments was when we met a fan who had traveled a long distance just to see us and had been waiting since morning to attend the concert. It was a very heartwarming experience.
Junyong: When we performed at our first solo concert, it was an unforgettable and significant moment for us as a band. It felt like a dream come true to see so many people come to watch us.
