Mary in the Junkyard reveals first album “Role Model Hermit”, listen to “Crash Landing”

Since their inception in 2022, Mary In The Junkyard has been creating what they refer to as “angry weepy chaos rock.” Today, the British trio is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their debut album, Role Model Hermit, set to drop this summer. Leading the charge is their single “Crash Landing,” a poignant track that delves into themes of fear and the societal pressure for men to suppress their emotions.

Bandleader Clari-Freeman Taylor elaborates on the inspiration behind the song, stating, “It’s about fear and how men often rely on keeping their emotions secret, and how you have to crack them open. To be the only one that’s seeing one side of someone, it’s trapping.” This raw emotional sentiment is central to the band’s ethos and shines through in their music.

Following the success of their 2024 EP This Old House, Role Model Hermit is a highly anticipated album that was expertly produced by Oli Bayston. The accompanying music video for “Crash Landing” was directed by Maisy Banks and Jacob Ray, adding a visual dimension to the band’s already powerful sound.
