Kroi collaborates with Bluey of Incognito for new single ‘Kinetic’
unk, rock and hip-hop band Kroi from Tokyo have unveiled their newest single, “Kinetic,” featuring Incognito’s frontman Bluey. The track was recorded during the band’s visit to The Great Escape festival in the UK in 2025.
This latest release by Kroi was produced at Bluey’s Colibri Sound Recorders studio situated in East London. “Kinetic” was captured live with Bluey at the helm of production, lending his expertise by adding percussion and brass arrangements, drawing inspiration from Incognito’s distinctive acid jazz style. Notably, this marks the first instance that Kroi has collaborated with an external producer.
The genesis of this collaboration can be traced back to Kroi’s deep admiration for Incognito’s music, particularly impacting vocalist and guitarist Leo Uchida during his formative years in music. The opportunity to collaborate arose during Kroi’s premier live performance in the UK and culminated in a fruitful three-day recording session upon their arrival in London.
A fascinating behind-the-scenes documentary, released on March 25th, offers a glimpse into the creative process as Kroi and Bluey collaborated closely within the walls of Colibri Sound Recorders studio. This insightful footage chronicles the band’s harmonious synergy and collective effort in crafting “Kinetic” under Bluey’s guidance.
Since their inception in 2018, Kroi has swiftly progressed from intimate club performances to commanding major stages across Japan. The band marked their major debut with ‘LENS’ in 2021 and achieved a significant milestone with a sold-out concert at the prestigious Nippon Budokan in 2024. Commencing 2026 with electrifying arena shows in Osaka and Tokyo, Kroi is now gearing up for a captivating performance on the White Stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’26 in July, followed by an extensive six-date Zepp tour titled JUNGLE in August.
