Enhancing ballpark experience with bolder flavors and larger video board
As the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders gear up for their upcoming home opener on April 7 in Moosic, fans can look forward to a lineup of mouthwatering delights to elevate their ballpark experience. From a delectable kielbasa cheesesteak to savory turkey legs, the team has curated a menu that promises to tantalize taste buds at PNC Field this season.
Months of meticulous planning have gone into revamping the food offerings at the ballpark, with Paul Valentino, the general manager of Legends Global at PNC Field, commending Executive Chef Will Cary for his stellar work on the menu. Featuring smoked turkey legs sourced from Lehigh County-based Jaindl Farms, these sizable treats are perfect for enjoying while strolling around the stadium. Other exciting additions include a Neon Dog – a footlong grilled frank brimming with neon-green Chicago-style relish, pickled onions, and zesty banana peppers in a footlong bun, and a Maple Bacon Burger available at the Boxcar Burger stand.
Drool-worthy delicacies like Cheesesteak Pierogis, a Grand Slamma Jamma Dog loaded with tender pulled pork, bacon jam, and crispy fried onions, and a Rueben Pierogi dish will also be on offer. To wash down these delectable treats, fans can quench their thirst with a Bleacher Creature Fizz drink featuring a blue raspberry flavor topped with whipped cream.
Valentino emphasized that Legends Global is committed to staying on top of emerging food trends and aims to continuously innovate their menu to cater to fan preferences. The Reuben pierogi dish’s success in previous years has inspired the addition of a new portable location offering loaded pierogi options, further expanding the culinary offerings at PNC Field.
Complementing the gastronomic delights, a new state-of-the-art video board spanning nearly 3,000 square feet – 1,900 square feet larger than its predecessor – is set to dazzle spectators. The board boasts over 2.5 million LED pixels, promising a visually immersive experience. Additionally, a 150-foot-long outfield LED wall and a cutting-edge sound system featuring 25 new zones and more than 250 individual speakers have been installed to enhance the overall ambiance at the stadium.
RailRiders fans can also look forward to an increased number of fireworks shows this season, adding an extra element of excitement to the game-day experience. Adam Marco, the director of communications for the team, expressed appreciation for Legends Global’s ability to create culinary offerings that resonate with the local community, infusing regional favorites with innovative twists.
With a diverse and tantalizing menu lineup, enhanced visual and auditory experiences, and an array of refreshing beverage options, PNC Field promises an unforgettable ballpark experience for fans as they cheer on the RailRiders this season.
