Austin, TX in a reflective mood, drawing inspiration from their journeys on the road. It serves as a nod to the many miles, places, and people they have encountered along the way, evoking a sense of freedom and escape familiar to musicians, truckers, cowboys, and dreamers alike.

The band’s declaration of a “new era” follows the departure of steel guitarist Zachary Moulton in March 2025. “Highway Man” stands as Silverada’s first release without Moulton. Although they briefly worked with steel guitarist Adam “Ditch” Kurtz for some shows, they have since welcomed keyboard player Parker Twomey as a permanent addition to the band. Twomey’s involvement in the studio marks his debut with the group, bringing back the classic keys that characterized Silverada’s earlier years when they were known as Mike and the Moonpies. Keyboards have always played a significant role in shaping the band’s sound, with Parker seamlessly weaving in the reminiscent melodies from John Carbone’s era with the group from 2011 to 2020.

Expressing his gratitude and sense of belonging, Parker Twomey remarks on the natural camaraderie among band members, feeling as though they were destined to come together. The band showcased their new lineup at a spirited show on March 14th at SXSW in Austin’s East End Ballroom, treating fans to a preview of their upcoming album Living Proof, which was recorded at the Sonic Ranch in West Texas. Known as a haven for artists seeking a unique atmosphere for recording, the Sonic Ranch imbues Silverada’s music with a different vibe from their previous works.

With a departure from their signature twangy country sound due to the absence of steel guitar, the new songs from Living Proof resonate closer to classic rock, reminiscent of icons like Tom Petty while still retaining a country essence akin to “Highway Man.” Another track titled “You Ain’t Doing Jack” has been gaining traction during their live performances, hinting at an album that promises a diverse mix of sounds and styles. While specific details of the album’s tracklist remain undisclosed, fans can already pre-order Living Proof in various physical formats, including CD, cassette, standard yellow vinyl, limited-edition fireworks vinyl, and exclusive merchandise bundles.

Silverada’s latest release and the promise of their forthcoming album signal an exciting juncture for the band as they embark on a new musical chapter imbued with fresh energy and creativity. Stay tuned for Living Proof’s release on August 7th to delve further into Silverada’s evolving sound and storytelling.
