Godthrymm, a prominent UK doom metal band, has unveiled its upcoming album, “Projections,” scheduled for release on May 29 through Profound Lore Records. This album marks the conclusion of the Visions Trilogy, following the band’s previous releases, “Reflections” in 2020 and “Distortions” in 2023. Godthrymm has established itself as a significant player in the modern doom metal scene in the UK, drawing inspiration from the early ’90s era of bands like My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, and Anathema.

Lead by former My Dying Bride guitarist Hamish Glencross and featuring drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels, the band has ensured that the classic UK doom sound is firmly embedded in its musical DNA. The upcoming album, “Projections,” builds upon the groundwork laid by “Distortions,” introducing an expanded lineup that includes keyboardist and co-vocalist Catherine Glencross, bassist Bob Crolla, and guitarist Kris McLaughlin.

Hamish Glencross shared his thoughts on the album, stating, “On this new album, we present songs that reflect our passion, sorrow, love, and fury – expressing the essence of who we are. We hope listeners will find a connection with themselves on this journey. ‘Projections’ delves into our musical souls, offering introspection, diversity, and contrasting emotions that define us as a band.”

The album also features guest appearances from Adie Bailey, Jay Walsh, and former My Dying Bride frontman Aaron Stainthorpe. Stainthorpe’s involvement on “Endure My Skin” marks a reunion with his former bandmates. The lead single from the album, “Truth In My Own,” has been released alongside a high-energy music video directed by Ash Pears. Glencross described the track as the most intense and headbanging song on the album, showcasing the band’s diverse sonic range.

In conclusion, Godthrymm’s upcoming album “Projections” promises to deliver a musical journey that encapsulates the band’s essence. With a blend of passion, sorrow, and fury, the band aims to connect with listeners on a deep and emotional level. Stay tuned for the release of this highly anticipated album on May 29, and immerse yourself in the unique soundscapes crafted by Godthrymm.
