On March 31, 1992, Bruce Springsteen Releases Two Albums: ‘Human Touch’ …
On March 31, 1992, Bruce Springsteen made a significant move in his music career by releasing two albums, Human Touch and Lucky Town, following the breakup of his band, The E Street Band. Human Touch was the initial album he worked on, featuring E Street Band member Roy Bittan, along with studio musicians like Randy Jackson on bass guitar and Jeff Porcaro from Toto on drums. Originally scheduled for release in 1991, Springsteen decided to hold it back and began work on Lucky Town, eventually opting to release both albums simultaneously.
Out of the two albums, Human Touch proved to be more popular, reaching the second spot on the Billboard Albums chart, while Lucky Town peaked at number three. The title track of Human Touch, combined with Lucky Town’s “Better Days,” climbed to number one on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Both albums received the Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying their commercial success.
Despite the temporary breakup with The E Street Band, Springsteen eventually reunited with the group in 1997 to record tracks for his Greatest Hits album. Subsequently, in 1999, they regrouped for an extensive Reunion Tour and have worked on multiple albums together ever since.
The Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour is set to commence in Minneapolis on Tuesday, marking the band’s return to live performances. Springsteen’s ability to navigate the changing landscapes of his music career, from solo projects to collaborations with his iconic band, demonstrates his versatility as an artist and his enduring appeal to fans around the world.
