Converge premieres title track “Hum Of Hurt” from upcoming album

After almost nine years of anticipation, Converge, the influential metalcore band, has finally released their follow-up to their last traditional studio album. Following the release of their tenth studio album, titled “Love Is Not Enough,” and their collaborative effort “Bloodmoon,” Converge announced the release of their next full-length album, “Hum Of Hurt,” scheduled for June 05, 2026.

The 10 songs featured on “Hum Of Hurt” were recorded during the sessions for “Love Is Not Enough,” with the band bringing dozens of new tracks to the studio last year. The band hinted at this new release by displaying a billboard in Boston, MA, and they have now unveiled the title track from this second album of 2026. The album’s title stems from a mysterious phenomenon described as ‘The Hum,’ a low, persistent noise that scientists say registers between 30 and 40 hertz, heard in various locations worldwide.

Vocalist Jacob Bannon took inspiration from the concept of ‘The Hum’ and speculated on its origins. He proposed the idea that the signal created by ‘The Hum’ could potentially be a manifestation of the pain felt throughout the world, forming a distinctive noise across the universe. Bannon shared that the band had an abundance of new material, resulting in the creation of two separate albums.

Bannon clarified that “Love Is Not Enough” and “Hum Of Hurt” are not directly connected but have their distinct identities and characteristics. While the band aimed to create a noise rock album initially, they explored a more emotional hardcore sound on “Hum Of Hurt.”

The title track of the album delves into Bannon’s introspection on personal growth and transformation. The album artwork, a collaboration between Bannon and artist Thomas Hooper, visualizes the concept of ‘The Hum’ with scientific diagrams as inspiration. Bannon explained that the cover, featuring an EKG signal merging with seismography, symbolizes chaos and elemental forces entangled in the ‘Hum of Hurt.’

The tracklist for “Hum Of Hurt” includes songs like “Slip The Noose,” “Doom In Bloom,” “It Only Gets Worse,” and more. Pre-orders for the album are currently available for fans. This rapid succession of new music from Converge showcases their artistic prowess and creative evolution, promising a dynamic and emotional listening experience for their audience.
